Eden Compton is originally from Connecticut and currently divides her time between the Northeast and Florida. She and her husband have lived aboard a sailboat for many years traveling extensively in the Caribbean and along the Eastern coast of the US.

Eden works mainly in pastel and paints both figurative and landscape subjects. “My subject matter is usually a reflection of our environment at any given time. Whether painting the rugged coast scenery of Maine or the abundant tropical foliage of Florida and the Caribbean, I try to capture the specific light and atmosphere that gives a place its unique character.”

Her art education includes a degree in Art History from Colgate University and many workshops with Master Pastelist Doug Dawson, Alan Flattman and Lois Wooley. She has also studied photography at ICP in NYC and has a “grand diplome” from the French Culinary Institute. Eden became a full time artist after a successful career in advertising in New York.
