My colorful tropical acrylic paintings reflect the flavor of the Florida Keys. I love plein air painting, as there is something unique about painting on site for capturing the special feeling about a particular place. While I am well known for my Keys landmarks and conch houses, I particularly enjoy painting mangrove and back country scenes.
I am a co-founder of the Key West Plein Air Painters. We meet weekly to paint scenes in Key West and the Florida Keys. I don't mind people watching, although I get so absorbed in my painting that I once got a parking ticket. Although my car was only 2 feet away, I never noticed the officer.
I have been painting since I was a teenager, and have studied under several noted Keys artists, including Judi Bradford and Jim Salem. I've been a professional artist since 2000.
