Florida's unique waterways, rivers, springs, headwaters, coastal salt marshes and great savannahs are the inspiration for my plein air landscapes. While place is important, the primary focus is on color and the manner in which it describes atmospheric space. Fluid paint and active gestural brushwork creates an exciting surface. The results are lyrical abstractions - a place of the imagination - a portrait of respite and tranquility. It is the feeling of a place declared in color which I seek.

Ms Edwards has a BFA from the University of Illinois and has attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has had numerous exhibits including at The Florida Capitol Complex, University of Florida and the Daytona Museum of Arts and Sciences. Her paintings are in major collections including City of Orlando, Percy-Geiger, First Union Bank, and Winn-Dixie Corporation.
