Landscapes, public art and astronomy themes are some of the targets of Tim’s work. A native Floridian, his passion to paint the Florida landscape is inspired by the extreme changes in the environment experienced by our generation. He is driven by the challenge to capture something of the splendor that is still there as it becomes increasingly under threat of being lost forever. Water themes are recurrent in his work and he is particularly drawn to the springs of Florida, their beauty and number unique in our world. Tim has a passion for plein air events, especially the public art aspect, working with fellow artists and partnering for worthy causes that promote the arts and conservation. He appreciates the opportunity for creativity and spontaneity that these events offer.
Tim is mostly a self taught artist, forever teaching, forever learning, forever creating and works on location and at his studio on Possum Creek in Gainesville, Florida. He enjoys working in various media on projects that can be completed in one session as well as those that require years of research and dedication. His plein air medium is oil on wood and favoring an impressionistic style, full of color and light, energized with expressive brushwork. Tim muses, “Always seeking the path to higher creativity, I love diving into the blank canvas. Such great discoveries await us there.”
