Cindy says about plein air painting, "It is absolutely essential to work from life and to become a true observer of nature. Not only does it make you a better artist, but it gets you in touch with the world around you. There is an energy and spirit that comes from working on location, which is what I try to capture. The natural beauty of Florida, with its brilliant light and exciting colors, has been the inspiration for my watercolors."

Cindy Sturla majored in fine art at the University of Pittsburgh. She continues to study through 'en plein air' workshops with internationally known impressionists like Judi Wagner, Tony van Hassalt and Betty Lou Schlemm, and others.

She actively participates in art shows and exhibits. Her watercolors have gained favor with a growing number of private and business collectors. Commissions for special images are often requested.
